Thanks to a certain !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I am now looking at boats on Craigslist.
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has my interest piqued real hard.
I don’t need a new boat, but I want it.
“That doesn’t look so bad, why would you be afraid of costs?”
Well, I don’t know that I’d be able to afford to feed it...
But, man it must move.

Don’t know yet...I dropped it off last week, it’ll be done sometime this week. I’ll post an update once I get it back.

Don’t buy a boat unless you can afford two boats, something like that.

Yessssss dual 5.7's
That makes me shiver, thinking of maintenance. Two bravo drives, also.

It would be a chore and a half that’s for sure...worth it though? Maybe. I’m just day dreaming at this point anyways.

This is the only real solution to the problem you’re trying to solve with your hydrofoil thingy.

Is a Regal like a Bayliner but with all the bolts tightened up? Or is it like Maxxum with more bolts?

Looks like a SeaRay? My old boat was a 25' Mariah with the 220hp 5.7 Bravo 3. The maint was pretty much limited to oil changes and winterization, and check the drive fluid levels. (Winterization on those engines is simple) I assume those are RWC Mercs, so I’d want to know if it was run in salt or not. Fuel costs can be scary, esp if you want to do a lot of tubing/skiing. If you want to get on the water, it’s tough to beat an outboard-powered pontoon or deck boat. Those can be bought used fairly cheap and operating costs won’t suffocate you.

I thought a boat was a hole in the water into which you throw money. Or maybe you throw money into the gas tank. With that one I can’t remember which.

Dual bravo mercruisers and fresh water equal indestructible. Plus a cuddy cabin? Why not? Just remember you need to drop the outdrive on a bravo to change the impellers.
I’m near Orlando FL, where Regal boats are built and they are great folks. They do open houses all the time and have an annual factory tour. I have a 2014 -they have been pushing the Volvo outdrive and I took it, but honestly, there’s a reason all the racing boats use mercruiser.

I’ve never heard this advice. I’m hearing it 10 years too late, but thanks anyway.

I’d assume only freshwater being in the Midwest, and we don’t tube or ski too often so we usually do pretty good on fuel.

Regal is much better built. Bayliner hulls have (or used to) hulls made of chopped Fiberglas. Regal, Cobalts, etc had hand laid Fiberglas, thus they’re heavier and better built. Now Bayliners are fine for most folks. A relative has a 24 footer that he bought in 1995 which gets regular usage and it’s still holding up (after some repairs, but we’re talking 2000hours of use).

See, I had a 19 foot regal with the 4.3 Alpha One and it had 230 HP...what’s up with the 5.7?

My Mariah was a 1999 base trim with the bottom spec carbed V8.
